What is camelCase?
camelCase joins words without separators. The first word is lowercase and each later word starts with a capital letter.
The converter runs entirely in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or stored, and Unicode characters remain Unicode rather than being transliterated.
How this conversion works
- Split words at spaces, punctuation, underscores, hyphens, dots, and case boundaries.
- Lowercase the first word, capitalize later words, and remove separators.
- Keep Unicode letters and numbers; preserve each input line as a separate output line.

Camel Case Converter FAQ
Does camelCase start with a capital letter?
No. This converter lowercases the first word. Use PascalCase when the first word should be capitalized.
How are acronyms handled?
Acronym boundaries are detected, then the words are normalized: XMLHttpRequest becomes xmlHttpRequest.
